Challenges our kids face today...

Updated: Aug 2, 2023

  • "In Grade 6, 36% of girls say they are self-confident, but by Grade 10 this has plummeted to only 14%.10

  • Between age nine and 13, girls become less confident and are more likely to say they are feeling depressed..."

  • Only 1 in 4 women believe they are beautiful (this often starts as a belief system at a young age).(Dove Self-Esteem Project)

  • "More than 40% of boys in middle school and high school regularly exercise with the goal of increasing muscle mass...

  • The top wish among all teen girls is for their parents to communicate better with them. This includes frequent and more open conversations."

  • "These days...the impossible standards are set much closer to home, not by celebrities and models but by classmates and friends. With social media, teens can curate their lives, and the resulting feeds read like highlight reels, showing only the best and most enviable moments while concealing efforts, struggles, and the merely ordinary aspects of day-to-day life. And there’s evidence that those images are causing distress for many kids."

  • 9/10 kids don't have the tools or self-empowerment techniques to deal with bullying when it happens.

  • Children have difficulty managing their emotions if not taught specific techniques in HOW TO.

  • Without rememdy, this can lead to low self-worth and low self-esteem.

  • In the absences of self-worth, self-responsibility, emotional regulation or self-management, or effective coping strategies during times of adversity, many children and teens can start to look for external ways to deal with their self-perceived problems including reliance on other people or other things as they get older to help them cope (food, drugs, alcohol or sex).

This is just the tip of the iceberg. And not only that, but parent stress is at an all time high and support systems are not a norm! Families need help.
