What is a Self-Esteem and Self-Confidence Coach for Kids?

What is a Parenting Coach?

Many of our kids have a dance coach, a soccer coach, a swim coach or a gymnastics coach. Why not a life-skills or self-confidence and self-esteem coach?

Why would anyone need a parent coach? Aren't parents just supposed to know what to do? Shouldn't parents just know it all when they have a baby?

A coach like Ashley Anjlien Kumar empowers kids with tools and knowledge about their mind, their inner power, stress responses, coping skills and so much more!

Our mind is the one tool that everything else in our life depends on…. Coaches like Ashley help kids program their minds for success (that could be in school, social circles, sports, or life in general) and help children build confidence, self-esteem, and resilience.

Kids coaching goes beyond the traditional parenting roles or moral and character development, and it goes beyond learning how to behave. What kids learn in my program, most adults haven’t learned. When a parent seeks help with their child it doesn’t mean that they are an “ineffective parent.”

Just as some children require more support for a learning disability or other developmental issues, many children also need greater support in the areas of coping skills, building self-esteem, overcoming shyness, dealing with bullies, and so much more. LIfe coaching for kids is about mindset development - it targets the root of the thought patterns that hold kids back.

Coaching and Counselling or Therapy are not the same thing.

Counselling is designed to help those with more serious issues lead a more normal, productive life or to get back on track. These types of issues might include anxiety, depression, OCDs, moving past trauma or neglect and abuse, or going through an personal crisis at home such as death of a parent or sibling, or divorce. Life coaching is about helping people reach their fullest potential - helping them get from where they are to where they want to be.

The way I look at it, is therapy and counselling are methods to find healing from something a person has experienced in the past. Life coaching is about fulfilling our life’s potential and acquiring the wisdom and skills to manage anything life throws at us and face our current lives and our future with direction and purpose. Life coaching can also be used as a preventative measure.

Kids Reading Outdoor

And.. what is a parenting coach?

And…What is a parenting coach?

Many parents I work with complain of the following things:

  • They  yell, and they’re not sure how to stop and what else to do to get their kids to listen.

  • They’re not sure how to teach their kids discipline other than to use punishments our time outs (but these aren’t working either)

  • They can’t get their kids to do things around the  house - they struggle with task completion or chores

  • There are negative challenging behaviours happening in the home (lying, sneaking, cheating, hitting, and more).

  • There is sometimes interference from misaligned relatives or co-parents

  • And a big one: LACK OF SUPPORT!

I help parents with all of these!
